Your travel itinerary could look like...
Day 1
See the exciting highlights of Berlin a private, guided walking tour with an experienced guide. The tour will last approx two hours. Listen to the eventful history of Berlin, explore the magnificent boulevard Unter den Linden and admire the Brandenburg Gate. Stroll through the government district, discover the Gendarmenmarkt and learn all about the development of the city in the Nikolai quarter.
Day 2
Berlin is one of Europe’s youngest capital cities, only being founded in the 13th century, and maybe that’s why it’s also one of the most dynamic and exciting. Packed with history, things to see and things to do, the city can feel like there’s too much to take in.
But don’t worry, with our Classic Route Bus Tour, you’ll get to see some of what it is that makes Berlin so special. Part of the beauty of being able to hop on and hop off where you want, is you choose where to start the tour. So, we won’t tell you where to hop on but we’ve got tips about to where to hop off. All our stops are close to things that you have to see, but Berlin does some have special standouts.
Day 3
Much more than just a public transport ticket: This is your totally flexible way to explore Berlin with discounts of up to 50% at around 200 top attractions in the city.
Holders can pick up a free detailed guide to the city with map at local tourist information offices.
Free travel with all busses, trains and ferries. Pick AB for central Berlin only, Pick ABC Zones to include the airport, so you do not need extra airport transfers!
Day 4
Experience a tour of the memorial site at Sachsenhausen, one of the main concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Built in 1936 by the SS, the second major camp to be constructed after Dachau, it was set up to detain all opposition to the Nazi regime.
Traveling from Berlin, transfer to Sachsenhausen by public transport, approximately 20 miles north of the city centre (use a Berlin Welcome Card Zones ABC for example). Upon arrival, you will learn why Sachsenhausen was created and why the Nazis developed the concentration camp system.
Learn what conditions were like inside the camp, and how they worsened after the outbreak of World War II. Your guide will describe who was present in the camp, some acts of defiance by British Prisoners or War, as well acts of sabotage by Soviet and Polish prisoners.
A must see for educational groups visiting Berlin
