Your travel itinerary could look like...
Day 1

Make the most of your time in Amsterdam by diving straight into a rich cultural experience. After settling into your accommodation, head to the Rembrandt House Museum – once the actual home and studio of the legendary artist. This visit offers students a unique opportunity to explore Rembrandt’s original etchings and gain insight into the artistic techniques and historical context of the Dutch Golden Age. The museum also features works by his influential contemporaries, deepening students' understanding of art history and creative expression. After this immersive educational experience, relax with a scenic canal cruise – the perfect way to reflect on the day’s learning while enjoying Amsterdam’s iconic waterways.
Day 2

Get ready for a day packed with enriching cultural experiences. Begin at Museumplein – the vibrant cultural hub of Amsterdam that draws art enthusiasts from around the world. Here, students will have the opportunity to explore three of the city’s most prestigious museums: the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, and the Rijksmuseum. These visits offer valuable insight into a range of artistic movements, from classical to modern, helping to deepen students’ appreciation of visual arts and history.
If time allows, enjoy a quick bite – perhaps a traditional Dutch pancake – before heading to Foam, one of Amsterdam’s leading photography museums. The contemporary and often thought-provoking exhibitions at Foam provide a striking contrast to the earlier galleries, encouraging students to consider the diversity of artistic expression and the evolving nature of visual culture.
Day 3

For a complete change of pace and perspective, take the short, free ferry ride to the vibrant NDSM district. Once a busy shipyard in north-west Amsterdam, this area has been transformed into a thriving cultural hotspot, home to artists' studios, striking exhibitions and creative festivals. It's an inspiring environment that’s sure to spark imagination and creativity in students, offering them a chance to see how urban spaces can be reimagined through art and design.
If time permits, return to Amsterdam Central and allow your group to enjoy a final wander through the city's charming cobbled streets. It’s a great opportunity for students to reflect on their experiences, take out their sketchbooks, and capture some final impressions of the city’s unique atmosphere before heading home.
