Day 6
Turtle Conservation Project
Experience the Pacuare Reserve. Imagine a place hidden in a dense jungle forest along the Caribbean Sea, a quasi-island surrounded by the ocean and canals. You can only get there by boat. A place with no electricity and where howler monkeys, egrets, herons and kingfishers herald your arrival. No crowds, no traffic, no luxury… all left behind for the unique chance to experience raw nature, to be a part of something great, to observe, to learn and maybe teach some. On the beach, you may notice a small group quietly gathering data from a nesting leatherback turtle. Or you may see an instructor leading students into the forest to observe a certain species of bird. The only other people here are the reserve staff, instructors, biologists, students, volunteers or another like-minded visitor or two. This is your Pacuare Reserve experience. Your chance to be a part of our efforts. Your chance to live and feel the power of shared passion for conservation in action.
