Safe Hands
Plan and book with confidence
With many organisations in the academic sector thinking about travel again, safety and wellbeing continues to be a major priority for us.
One way in which we’re providing peace of mind is our partnership with Sherpa. The platform provides
you with the most up-to-date information on a country’s COVID-19 travel requirements, from testing and quarantines to vaccination information. Users can access Sherpa in a single click from anywhere within Diversity Travel’s online booking tools, making it easy to find the information you need during the booking process.
Customer Portal and App for when you’re on the move
We will also be launching our new customer-facing portal and app for all of our group bookers. This system enables the trip leader, departmental finance, and admin teams to house all trip correspondence (generated from the planning process through to payment and ticketing) in one central portal. Then, just upload the app onto your mobile phone and say goodbye to those ‘paper-based’ pre-departure and ticketing wallets – the app will send you reminders and update you on the day-to-day activities and timings within your itinerary.
Risk management
Your transport, accommodation, visits and excursions are audited before your trip as part of our externally verified Safety Management System (SMS). Our SMS is independently audited annually by ISO-accredited auditors, who are experts in the field of health and safety and risk management.
Duty of Care
Step 1: Our industry-leading intelligence system provides us with the latest information on potential incidents and risks that may impact travel. You can receive notifications directly from the system or we can filter the alerts, sending you only those that are relevant to your travel policy and behaviour.
Step 2: Pinpoint, our traveller-tracking system, gives access to real-time intelligence on your employees’ locations, using colour-coded ratings to highlight the level of risk faced.
Step 3: Following an alert, we notify travellers in high-risk areas or those due to travel imminently, while making arrangements for alternative travel or repatriation.
We also have a detailed emergency procedure in place should the unforeseen happen. Details are available on request.
OEAP useful guidance and documentation
The OEAP has revised a number of its national guidance documents recently. You’ll find new checklists for planning, information on PTR and a new Coronavirus guidance document.
